West Broadway has a unique asset that often goes unnoticed: our community compost sites! West Broadway and Spence are the only neighbourhoods in Winnipeg to provide public composting sites for residents on a large scale.

West Broadway has a total of 20 community compost bins at 6 sites throughout the neighbourhood. Find the bin nearest you: Click here for a map (pdf).

Tips to help keep community compost bins running smoothly:
Don’t add meat, dairy products, bones, or oils
No bags please!
Chop your waste into smaller pieces so that it breaks down more quickly
Cover your waste with a handful of leaves from the leaf bin
Volunteer to maintain a bin near your home
Participate in Leaf It with West Broadway
